Project Description

The goal of this project is to redesign 4 of the 12 dams that were destroyed during a torrential rainstorm that struck Medford Lakes NJ on July 14th, 2004. The project will begin with an analysis of the rainstorm event using data collected from the Department of Dam Safety and the use of rainfall data bases. Once the analysis of the rainfall event is complete the process of redesigning the dams will begin with the goal of rectifying the dams to current standards. The redesign of the dams will primarily be completed by manipulating the geometry of the structures until they are capable of withstanding a design storm.
